Biography
Born in Nice in 1980, French pianist Nicolas Bringuier is a distinguished soloist and educator. He has performed at prestigious venues such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna Musikverein, Salle Gaveau in Paris, and Seoul Arts Center. As Co-Artistic Director of the Rencontres musicales du Negresco and the Samson François International Competition, he also forms the Siloti Duo with pianist Olga Monakh, with whom he has toured extensively in Europe and China.
Bringuier studied at the Nice Conservatory before joining Bruno Rigutto’s class at the Paris Conservatoire, where he earned a 1st Prize in piano at 16 and completed the Cycle de Perfectionnement at 18. He continued his training at Berlin University of the Arts with Klaus Hellwig, graduating with top honors, and benefited from the mentorship of renowned pianists such as Dimitri Bashkirov, Jean-Claude Pennetier, and Vladimir Viardo. A laureate of prestigious foundations and competitions, he was the youngest participant selected for the 1998 Tchaikovsky Competition, won the Grand Konzerteum in 2000, and received the Silver Medal at the Robert Schumann International Competition in 2004. He has performed over 30 concertos with leading orchestras, including the Berliner Symphoniker, Wiener Concertverein, Prague Philharmonic, Toulouse Capitole, and Cannes National Orchestra.
A guest Jury at major festivals such as Printemps des Arts in Monte-Carlo, Festival de Colmar, and Klassik Festival Ruhr, Bringuier has also recorded works by Schumann, Bartók, and Fauré, earning critical acclaim. Passionate about chamber music, he has collaborated with renowned musicians including Gary Hoffman, Régis Pasquier, Alissa Margulis, RaphaelOleg, François Salque, Istvan Várdai, Alexandra Conunova, and Nicolas Dautricourt.
Currently a professor at the École Normale de Musique de Paris, Bringuier also serves as a jury member for international competitions, mentoring students who have gone on to win numerous awards.
