Biography

Born in Ukraine, Alexandre Brussilovsky completed his musical training at the Moscow Conservatory, studying with Yuri Yankelevich, Maya Glezarova, Felix Andrievsky, and Leonid Kogan. He is a laureate of major international competitions, including the Prague International Competition (1969) and the Grand Prix and Albert Roussel Special Prize at the Jacques Thibaud Competition in Paris (1975).
After years of political restrictions on international travel, he settled in France in 1985, where he developed a distinguished career as a soloist, chamber musician, and pedagogue. He has performed in leading venues such as Carnegie Hall, Salle Pleyel, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, and the Bolshoi Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, collaborating with artists including Yehudi Menuhin, Misha Maisky, Boris Berezovsky, and members of the Fine Arts Quartet.
He is currently Professor at the École Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris, founder of Ensemble Ricercata de Paris, and President of the Yuri Yankelevich International Violin Competition.
