Piano Concerto Academy

The Piano Concerto Academy offers an exceptional opportunity for young pianists to gain first-hand experience performing with a professional orchestra.

Designed as an inclusive and supportive program, there is no selection process or age requirement — making it ideal for younger and developing musicians eager to gain orchestral performance experience.

Held in the Toulouse, the program combines individual mentorship, orchestral collaboration, and public performance. Each participant will receive:

• 3 individual masterclasses with international faculty
• 2-3 orchestra rehearsals (40 minutes total)

The Academy is led by a distinguished faculty dedicated to nurturing the next generation of concert artists:

Antonio Di Cristofano, Eric Le sage, Congyu Wang, Christine Gan, and Rae Pung.

Set in the heart of the vibrant Occitanie region near Toulouse, the Piank Concerto Academy is both a musical and cultural retreat - a place where young artists can perfect their craft, perform with orchestra, and draw inspiration from the warmth, history, and charm of southern France. 

Please select one movement of a piano concerto from the following composers suitable for performance with chamber orchestra:

• Johann Sebastian Bach – Any piano concerto
• Joseph Haydn – Piano Concerto in D major
• Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Any piano concerto (recommended: K.413–K.415, K.449, K.450, K.453, K.466, K.467, K.488)
• Ludwig van Beethoven – Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major, Op. 15 or No. 2 in B-flat major, Op. 19
• Frédéric Chopin – Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11 or No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21
• Robert Schumann – Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54

Other concertos suitable for chamber orchestra may be considered upon request and approval by the faculty.
